August was a month of rediscovering my old makeup loves.
Most of these products I have owned for many years or been using for many years and during the last month my use of them has reminded me of how much I treasure these makeup and skincare items.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Anniversary Lipstick #54 Rock 'N' Roll Nude
I'm certain that this has already featured in one of my monthly faves posts before but it's back again for August too. As this lipstick is a part of my current project pan I've been trying to use it everyday and recently I realised that this could serve for more purposes than just a lipstick. As a cream blush I apply this with a stippling brush and it looks very natural. It wears well for more than eight hours and I like the peachy nude look as a blush. I've been using this for days when I want a natural makeup look and it's been performing beautifully.
Chi Chi Glamorous Timeless Eye Shadow Palette
This is the first eyeshadow palette that I ever bought and I still love it. It's looking a little rough as it's been with me for going on three years and while I know that I've used it a lot the pans are so deep, I've discovered, that it barely looks used. This palette is exactly as it's named, it's timeless. These shades allow me to create looks that are classy, elegant and effortless. The shadows are all pigmented and blend out very well. They also wear well and for a long time on my oily, hooded eyelids so I really do love this palette.
BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation
This foundation performs how it is described on the BH Cosmetics website. "It helps keep skin hydrated and younger looking. This foundation provides lightweight, medium to full coverage and a natural satin finish." While it may not be ideally suited for my oily skin I just can't stop wearing it. The finish of this is so skin like that the minimalist in me is in love. Also the shade range has been great for my pale skin so I put up with having to powder my face throughout the day for this foundation.
The Ordinary. 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
I've been using this oil for about a year now and I still really like it. I apply this of a night to help balance my oily skin however lately I've also been using it as a scalp treatment as it's winter in Australia and my scalp has been feeling a bit dry lately. As I've been applying it to my scalp it's also been leaving my hair feeling very soft so this oil has been quite handy of late.
Red Earth Wide Eyes Full Lash Mascara
This is another old favourite that I've been pulling out lately. Called Wide Eyes and claiming to volumise, lengthen and lift each lash for an eye-opening effect this mascara really does do exactly that. It's not as thick of a formula as other mascaras so it lengthens and darkens however my lashes seem to stay separated and have an almost fluttery effect when I wear this. I don't own any other mascara that gives me this look so I'll be sorry to see it finished.
Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau De Parfum
Compared to the Flora Remedia Aromatherapy Roll On that I finished this month, I hadn't been wearing this perfume as much, however whenever I did use this I got many compliments from people noticing the scent. And I agree with them, this perfume has a smooth floral fragrance and I've been finding it a lovely companion to the winter weather here in Australia.
I'd love to know what your favourites have been lately or if you've tried any of mine!
Thanks for reading and I hope you're as happy and healthy as can be!
